B i o g r a p h y
Jacqueline was born in London England and grew up in northeast London suburbia. Her first introduction to the world of music began at the early age of four, when she attended ballet school in Essex. She then began piano lessons at the age of seven and enjoyed a classical education both in dance and piano until the age of fourteen.
After gaining a classical knowledge of music, at the age of nineteen, she then diverted into playing keyboards and singing backing vocals in a ‘middle of the road’ band. She worked as a semi professional musician on the south coast of England until the age of twenty four when she decided to turn her love of music into her profession. She continued to study privately in classical voice and jazz piano, finishing her education with the London College of Music where she obtained an advanced certificate in piano performance and composition.
Her first professional contract was as a Singer/Pianist at The Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane London. Following that, her career has taken her all over the world as a soloist, but also with her trios and quartets which have had the pleasure of supporting such artists as George Melly, Jim Mullen and Ronnie Scott. She has entertained some of the worlds best known celebrities, including Sean Connery, President Clinton, Johnny Depp, Bruce Forsyth and Joanna Lumley to mention but a few. Her residencies have included, The Sheraton -Abu Dhabi, Gezirah Sheraton - Cairo, Intercontinental Hotel - Park Lane, The Ritz Hotel - London and also the Ritz Club.
Jacqueline’s musical ability has been very diverse, playing most genres of music from Pop & Rock, to funk and Jazz. She has also played percussion in jazz funk bands.
During her career she has taught music in primary schools, coached jazz vocalists, worked as a session singer for EMI (United Artists), was appointed as Area Representative for the South West of England for The London College of Music (affiliated with The Thames Valley University). She has been Principal of her own private music school and the proprietor of a Music/Theatre Cafe.
Jacqueline’s career has also spanned into the realms of scriptwriting, where her great passion is not only for the scripts but also for the musical composition. Her work has been accepted into the fringes of London theatre and also by BBC Radio. She is represented by WGM Atlantic Group.
Her career has spanned over thirty years gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience. Jacqueline is UK based, but also tries to spend time in her mountain writers retreat near San Remo in Italy.
